SORRY BABE. THE SEA IS A CRUEL MISTRESS BUT SHE CALLS TO ME, OH GOD SHE CALLS TO ME

Great game! Love the atmosphere and gameplay.

great game. i would leave the controls up on screen. no need to negate the information just to have that not there. i had to restart it to take it in (remember the playing is literally parcing all of that information (images - what the game genre is etc) all at once at boot up. no time to take in the tut contrls.

other option is a close button for it.

after i figured out the fishing i didnt know what i was doing. onboarding the player is a pain in the arse but is so so important if you dont want ur audience to disregard your game.

great game. real cool visuals. could be a jem

My guy pls, PLEASE listen to the comments, this game would be fire

Not a bad game, it's like a copy of dredge but this thing is like more into 2D and the game at the beginning is kinda hard

(+4)

A really enjoyable game that I think with a little polish could really shine. I really think this could do with a pause menu that let's you actually quit the game without needing to alt f4. Similarly the ability to save your game would be great for a longer run. Lastly like the latest comment says a fish encyclopedia would be so fun to see how many fish you've seen in your game.

(+5)

beautiful game.... i do crave a fish encyclopedia. but i know this is merely my fishing completionism heart...

(+1)

is it only my thing or is it a feature?
i cant save and every time i play i have to do everything again, is it supposed to be that way?

(+4)

game is fun but you need to add a way to cut the evac time down

Лютейшая имба, мне особенно нравятся названия рыб.

I love the game, the artstyle is really nice and i love organizing the fish to get as much money as possible. Its a really fun game :]

ALSO LOOK I GOT 2 GOLD FISHES AT THE SAME TIME >:D and with all that money i saved my sweet sugar glider love, how beautiful

(+1)

I really enjoy the game and i love the artstyle for it. Hope you make more of this.

Really freaking fun, i enjoyed a lot, however i didnt see any real reason to level hp

(+3)

it saves a lot of money in heals over time and it allows you to go for longer adding bonuses together

(+1)

The game is really good and fun to play, but I'm using a trackerpad instead of a mouse and don't know how to use the items :(

other than that it's really cool!

use two fingers i think that should work or double tap or soemthing like that

(+1)

love it, great art and addictive gameplay, would instantly buy if this was made into a full game and expanded upon :)

Same.

i really loved this game and i loved the ending, i got all upgrades sadly it did not give me all of the inventory for the final upgrade  hope to see more in the future

I love this game so much! It's very fun, though I was very sad when I crashed once I had all upgrades and 2/3 locks undone. I do need to restart, I wish I could have edited it T_T NOT AT ALL ON THE DEVS
The game isn't long enough to need a save feature, and overall I recommend it

(1 edit)

Amazing premise, fun to play, but knowing the exact pattern of dangers (acid raid, radiation etc) removes part of the strategy around items, I think dangers should be random

lovely!

(+3)

I LOVE THIS SETTING AND ART I want to know more about this world so badly!! Incredibly engaging gameplay and the vibes are so cohesive and eerie, will definitely be coming back to this one!

(1 edit) (+2)

omg I love the sound design. the fish sound like HL snarks

Played a bit, want to share some suggestions

  1. Add a weather randomizer, because right now every run is rain → bubbles → rain, like clockwork
  2. Balance the fish randomizer — after the first run, with the rod upgraded, over the next 4 runs I only managed to catch 9 fish! Everything kept breaking off the line Maybe add a choice of bait that gives better chances for a desired fish rarity Or maybe balance it so that fish you physically can't catch appear WAY less often — right now it's like 80-90%. The rod with the first upgrade can't even pull in 2-star fish, but I'm constantly hooking 2–5 star ones that snap the line. As a result, the early game pace drops brutally and makes you want to drop the game

You do know its possible to catch 2-5 star fish without any upgrades right... The main game mechanic involves the red and green line when you hook a fish. As the bar fills up, it turns red, indicating that the tension of the line is high and it might snap. As soon as you let go, it turns green, and you basiclly gotta edge it until you catch the fish. The upgrades simply make that process easier. I caught a 5 star fish without any upgrades on my second run, after i noticed this mechanic. It wasn't easy but it is possible. That being said, the learning curve is steep as I feel the weather patterns simply make it too difficult to make enough of a profit during the begininning.

Also, I don't think the early game pace is too bad, as after the first 2 rod upgrades I was catching 6-star fish easy

(+2)

Ah, I see — in that case, its need to add a tutorial. It's a really non-obvious mechanic for a fishing newbie, because all the game ever told me was: "it's biting — PULL."

(+2)

Good job! (~ ̄▽ ̄)~🔥❤️

There's a problem with the browser version im not sure what but it seems to load then it goes full screen for a second and then i just get the sad dead square guy.

(+2)

Incredible game. I cant begin to explain the feel of this game. Its so relaxing and uncomfortable at the same time. Wow

(+2)

consider ME hooked!!! this is so delightfully dreary, and i would really really like a full release or a bigger game like this! strategy fishing is an untapped market. my other christmas wish is for a Linux port so i can play on my handheld....

Soggy cat spotted? Question mark?

so addicting! I love the gameplay loop along with the awesome dark style. Very very fun! :)

(+1)

dude! what a game ... very nice

(+5)

gang please make this a fully extensive game, I had fun and if there was a full story where we have to earn money to travel to different locations and get closer to the merchant that has our lovely lady captive (spitballing a potential idea), it would definitely be a worthy purchase. Good work

so nice!

lovely game, thanks!! great game design

😊👍

this game is so so sweet. Love it deeply :)

I've had so much fun playing this game, the pixel art is amazing and the gameplay was very easy to understand, the only problem was to determine weither the bubbles meant I had to use the mask or the radioactive item at the start of the game, otherwise it was amazing ! Maybe an encyclopedia with all the fishes in the game would be cool !

Almost finished playing this cute game, really promising, just a couple small thoughts about how to tell players what's going on. I experimented for like 20 minutes to make sure just loosing health does not actually cost you any money, also I just found out thru another coment that releasing the line doesn't make u lose the fish and is required to get the bigger ones which I wasn't aware of. also with both these things in mind, it's actually pretty easy to beat most of the game by just fishing a bit, only buing upgrades and just going back whenever the poisoned gas starts (or even later) to avoid loosing so much health that you die. also from what I've experienced every pattern of what dangers happen is the same with it raining, then being poisonous then raining again, I never made it further than that and am very close to unlocking the third lock. to maybe make the game a bit more challenging over time you could make it mandatory to open the locks before being able to get the next level of upgrades and vice versa and then also make the game be harder/mix up the cycle of dangerous events with each unlocked element, that way the game keeps casual players as me from just grinding on the lower levels without any action happening. still thanks a lot for making this sweet and fun little game, 9.5/10 already recommended to some friends

(+1)

wait, what? you need to release the line to catch some of the fish? i thought some were intentionally impossible to catch!! amazing game but HOW was i supposed to figure that out

also only found that out thru what other players wrote

I love the mood of this, and the pixel art is very very nice :DD (Sidenote: t's so good to see actual pixel art in a game, I've seen so many lately with ai generated 'pixel' assets, so good god is it refreshing <3) Great audio too, love the little squeaks <3 Also like the audio cue of the ~danger music~ when things start to get real bad, it was fun to realise and learn, I love it when progression in a game is a mixture of in-game upgrades and the player actually learning and getting better, it's so much fun!! :D

Did get frustrated a couple times when losing all my fish cuz I died, but in all honestly that's probably on me for being too risky >:]

It also took me a hot minute to realise I could let go to give the fishing line some slack- in hindsight it makes sense with the colour of the bar turning to red, but it hadn't clicked! I thought I had to keep holding it cuz the instructions just said 'hold' with no mention of letting go (despite me having played other fishing games/minigames where you let go...once again that may just be on me ._.)

But yeah! I enjoyed the variety of mechanics for the fish, really made you think about the best time to call it, e.g. with the dark trickster making it beneficial to stop sooner rather than later! It was also fun that some adjacent fish bonuses were per-tile-in-contact, and others (like same-species bonus) just needed a single point of contact, it helped limit any repetitiveness in the bonuses, having those different rulesets which of course also affects layout! I also loved the variety of shapes the fish had, and how especially the eely ones had such strange shapes, it makes fitting them together pretty fun :D Also neat how the ourobourus is a perfect circle with a little gap for fitting a little fish in! (I was delighted when I got the ourobourus + goldfish in the middle, just like the background art :D). I just love all the shapes and the ways they fit together!! Not just up against each other but also working around the edges of empty spaces for the empty cell bonus! I also of course like the way the fish increased in strangeness as the game went on, it may be a common fishing game trope but by god it's a good one!

I also really appreciated the fact that you can left-click and let go to pick up a fish rather than having to hold it down- it meant it was actually possible to right-click rotate using a trackpad, it makes all the difference and I always notice when games have that so thank you! :D Also means less finger strain :3

Overall very fun, visually wonderful, sweet and succinct story/premise, and the end animation was really cute :D (Also appreciated that it repeats in case you miss some of it, which I did the first time!) It could honestly be extended if you ever so felt like it, with higher prices for the locks and maybe an extra page of inventory, hooks on the side of the boat for holding spare fish while sorting, maybe a weather machine to check the likelihood % of each weather event next session, etc! But of course only if you want, it definitely feels complete like this, no sense of anything missing!

Edit:!! Oh and also before I forget, I encountered a bug where I frantically was sorting just before the fish sold, and I tossed a snail shell for an empty slot bonus, and the money calculation stopped and the fish weren't removed from my inventory. I went out, came back, and it counted everything and yoinked the fish as normal (probably giving me a duplicate score on a fish or two that were counted before I chucked the snail overboard). Far from gamebreaking, just thought I should mention it!
((Also-
It'd be neat if there was a 'sell' button so you could sort fish before they're totalled up and removed, since it's often a scramble to finish sorting as you're being extracted! Unless, of course, that's entirely intentional, in which case I respect that you conniving little bastard >:P /silly))
